Built by South West Durham Steelcraft, Spirit of Debdale is a well-constructed cruiser stern narrowboat measuring 55ft by 6ft 10in, presented in a practical reverse layout  – meaning she offers exceptional interior space and a proven, hard-wearing build quality throughout. Her layout features a versatile mid-ship area that works equally well as a quiet home office or comfortable dinette, alongside a dedicated utility room – a highly desirable feature that adds real everyday convenience and keeps living areas uncluttered. The hull is built to a robust 10/6/4 steel specification with a flat bottom, finished with durable marine ply and vinyl flooring, solid ply cabin sides, and practical top-opening windows that flood the interior with natural light and allow for easy ventilation.

Propulsion comes from a reliable Beta Marine 38hp four-cylinder diesel engine, fitted with keel cooling and coupled to a PRM 150 gearbox – a straightforward, well-specified set-up that is easy to maintain and reassuring to handle on the canals. She carries 200 litres of diesel and a generous 700 litres of fresh water, giving plenty of range for extended cruising. Heating and hot water are efficiently delivered by an Eberspacher central heating system, with water heated via both a calorifier and the Eberspacher, ensuring consistent warmth and ample hot water all year round. The electrical system covers both 12v and 240v supplies, powered by a high-quality Victron Multiplus 3kW inverter, supported by one starter battery and four leisure batteries – giving more than enough capacity for all your onboard appliances and devices.

The galley is neatly equipped for life afloat, featuring a Thetford oven with separate hob and a Smeg 12v fridge/freezer, while the dedicated utility room houses a top-loading washing machine – a real bonus feature. Sleeping accommodation comfortably caters for up to four people, with a fixed double bed plus an L-shaped dinette that converts easily into an additional berth. The bathroom houses a pump-out toilet, a classic hip bath with shower attachment and a vanity basin.

Further practical touches include a side hatch and a wrap-around bow, while her Boat Safety Certificate remains valid until February 2030, she has been blacked in July 2026, offering immediate peace of mind and ready-to-go cruising for seasons ahead.

When you buy a boat from us you pay all monies in to our company clients trust account which means that the buyers and sellers money is protected. This is the same account that solicitors set up for house sales .This money does not belong to the company it belongs to the buyer until the sale is complete and then we pay the seller from the company clients trust account. We cannot release the money from the Clients Trust Account to the seller until the vessel has been accepted and handed over to the buyer because if there was a fault with the vessel and the buyer refused to accept it and wanted their money back we could not do this because the seller would of already had the money. This could become a very costly and messy problem for all parties.

This money never enters our company current account. This also means that we cannot use customers money for other purchases/reasons. If at any point the company went bust then the buyers/sellers money is safe and it would go back to the rightful owner of the money.

We have had this company clients trust account set up from day one to protect our customers money. This account is a secure holding account. We pay the seller monies due from this account when the buyer has signed to accept the vessel. Payment is made from this account to the seller by cheque from the clients Trust Account which is protected guaranteed funds.
